Party like Gatsby

This is another post from late late year that I'm just finding time to post today. We were approched to set up a ball for the UKZN final year optometry students based around the movie, The Great Gatsby. Having done the 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald as a school book review, I was all too trilled to take on the challenge.

We alternated these glitzy napkin bands with the black bow tie ones below.

Together with stocks & chrysanthemums, more than a dozen roses were used for each of these all white centre pieces.

We created these fun photo props together with a photo shoot backdrop and some gold tiffany chairs for the students to have fun with.

The Trio's 16th Carnival

Having done a party for twin's back in 2012 (click here to view the full post) and it being double the fun to plan, we were all too happy when approached to do a Carnival Theme for a set of triplets! Oh the fun we had with this one!!

Carnival treats, balloon centrepieces and some little Big Tops...

Now Every Carnival must have a Big Top!

The custom designed popcorn boxes.

These Oh-So-Fun centrepieces were definitely our fav part of the party.

We custom made these party hats for The Trio to use as photo props.

We heart these mini chocolate slab wraps we designed for the party favours.
Nothing says Carnival like a colourful bunting does!

A bunch of these cute B & W pictures of the three were displayed on the tables.

Happy Birthday Trio!
We're glad to have been a part of it!

A Pretty Perfect Pancake Day

So this post is of my sister, Nabeela's, Pancake Day from October last year. She had been talking about having a Pancake Day get-together for the longest time, and so we thought her birthday was the perfect opportunity.
Who doesn't love a pancake...or two?

"Drama is very important in life. You have to come on with a bang. You never want to go out with a whimper. Everything can have drama if it's done right. Even a pancake"
Julia Child

Ok, so pancakes were the main attraction, but we did have some yummy 'side shows' too.

When Nabeela insisted on making her own birthday cake, a chocolate crepe cake, we weren't complaining.

And so, A Pretty Perfect Pancake Day it was!
Happy Birthday Nabo!
