Hey Diddle Diddle!

He is 1 already and it's his first birthday ever!
We chose a nursery rhyme theme to celebrate our little Yusuf's big day.
Rich green, blue and gold, a party fit for a prince!
Being his 1st birthday, we decided rather than a playful theme, to go for a more classic, vintage sort of look.
Pretty soon the little guy will be deciding his own theme, so Mommy was allowed to decide this time :)
See pics from the party below...

The invite (personal details edited out for privacy reasons).   Bee and Daisy

Little lollipop tree centrepieces with nursery rhyme cut-outs.

We alternated these Jack and Jill wooden pales with the lollipop trees. The patterned paper windmills had lines from nursery rhymes on them!

Themed napkin rings

A different take on a sweet table- Chocolate balls, pretzels, wafer sticks, macaroons, chocolate fingers and caramel popcorn.

Paper bags for guests to take sweets home in with nursery rhyme themed 'thank you' stickers.

For the adults- favour boxes filled with homemade nougat.

For the kiddies- Candy bars with themed wraps...

...and hot chocolate spoons with a sweet little 'thank you' tag on each...

...and nursery rhyme books with a sing-a-long CD.

Patterned paper buntings

Cupcakes with little buntings in colours to match the deco.

The amazing cake by Nabeela's Bakeshop especially for her nephew! LOVE! Check out more pics of this gorgeous creation at Nabeela's blog.

The cake had lines from different nursery rhymes on it in the same patterned paper as the deco.

Another creation by Nabeela's Bakeshop- a doughnut tower! How beaut?

By Nabeela's Bakeshop too!

The nursery rhyme characters seated themselves on the food and dessert buffets.
